KKN25/1002 is the name of my unit at the Buitenplaats Koningsweg, a former military base in the outskirts of Arnhem. My studio is enclosed by a nature reserve and military facilities, so once in a while I run into a deer or Chinook. On the terrain we organize cultural activities and I have just created an open call website called proposalbase.org together with another BK artist called BiOP.
The natural environment gives me peace and concentration to focus on new work. But I have to make sure everything is present, because it’s a 30 minutes bike ride to get a new jar of peanut butter.
